They have radar that pinpoints where artillery or mortars fire from for decades. So they should have known for certain if projectiles were being fired from the school. That being said there is usually a delay between when a round is fired and when they can fire back. Plenty of time for a person to run away before an artillery round hits them. There is even a video of this on youtube! So the Israeli's are just retaliating with more bloodshed!

So you have no problem comparing the government to an individual when it comes to acts of war...what about acts of taxation? redistribution of wealth? Is it ok for me to go into a rich person's home, demand their "fair share" and then start handing it out to "needy" people on the street. If you are at all consistent, you will see my point here.
