I wrote this song not because I have anything against physically beautiful people (I am as drawn to a pleasing appearance as anyone) but because I believe I've seen more than a few cases where it gets to their head. When beauty becomes someone's sole asset/pride/focus, I think it can be ugly. But who knows, maybe I wouldn't say that if I looked like Brad Pitt. And yes, this song applies to males too. Gabriella in the song is simply a fictitious representative of all narcissistic beings.
