Friends: Nazi and Jew

Jason Isaacs(Maurice) and Viggo Mortenson(John) star in the film version of the great stage play "Good", playing friends, both German citizens, both intellectuals. Viggo as a professor writes a book detailing the death of a beloved mother with altzheimer's in a mercy killing. This book is taken up by the new Nazi party and the Professor becomes involved in Nazi party and the professor is promoted. His very best friend, the Jewish psychiatrist, a successful doctor, celebrates a happy life which he believes he has helped make by fighting bravely in the German Army in WWI. As the Nazis rise in power, their oppression of the Jews grows heavier. first denying Maurice the right to work at his profession, then finally making him a prisoner in a death camp. John goes there hoping to help him but nothing can be done. This story of political choices is expertly portrayed. Playing all over Europe, as well as in the U.S. and other countries, the dvd should be available soon.Music is Funeral March, artist Uri Caine. I would love to see the movie. Awesome video. Viggo Mortinson is pretty cool and Jason Isaacs is so handsome! Such a great pair they make as pals! I read in one interview the film or role affected Jason poor sweet guy! If I were cast in that film I would fight for Maurice's (Jason's) honor and take his place. I hated seeing him in the stripes in the movie SO SAD no one deserved that! Awesome video shows you can be friends even through completly different backgrounds. 10 stars!!!

@michelecrenshaw Thanks so very much. I think Jason tried for about seven years to get this filmed, and once he even invested all his savings to keep it from failing. Then someone took over and raised the funds so his family got the savings back. I it very, very good. I think they just showed it or are planning to show it on BBC. That would be very good. Heard so much about this film, saw so many interviews about it. But is it just me or why can't I find any information about it in the Internet? I really have no idea if it is already released or if it will be soon. Looked up the information but couldn't find anything.

The video itself is great! Really did enjoy it and it made me even more interested in this film. It looks stunning!

Stars for Jason again! thanks. This is sort of an intellectual film, made from a stage play. Most moviegoer want action like guns and war and spies and all that. It is not going to have wide distribution, but I read on the net that the video is being prepared. It showed in scattered places in US, but not many. I am sure it will come up for sale on Amazon soon.
