They use the calcium carbonate (marble) in white bread, bumpers, toothpaste, and calcium pills, so why not in soap as a mild abrasive to replace pumice!

  • Hi. Can i ask a question?

well, is calcium carbonate an ingredient in making soap? please answer this question, and i'll wait for your reply. coz we need such product in a very special project we have in our university. thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Incubical

  • @incubical I only used it for an abrasive to make gardening soap. Otherwise, no, you don't use that in soap. Just water lye and oil are essential.

  • Nancy, you are always creating, and finding uses for so many things.. If ever I were stranded in the wilderness, I would hope to have you with me as I am sure you could help us survive!!! Love and Hugs!

  • If I were stranded, I'd want you to be with me, too. Not so much fun having an adventure in the woods all by your lonesome! Grin.

  • awesome!! id love to spend the day with you crafting and enjoying life :)

  • Great find. Please show the demonstration of you making the mosaic using this marble.

  • Wow! It's incredible what is in our own backyards that others have to pay for, no matter where you live! The trick is to find uses for what you have nearby!

They sound pretty cheap! But that's a lot of weight!

  • Those little marble rocks are sold in 40# bags here in Mississippi for around $4 to $8 (depending on retail source). People put them in their flower beds, around their mailboxes to stop weed growth (placed on top of a piece of thick piece of plastic first), and we use them in the driveway to stop erosion.
