My father was a german soldier between 1942 (then he was 18) and 1944 on the eastern front. The best shooters in a german company get the MG42, so my father too. TMy father rarely spoke about the war. This was a typical Russian attack in 1942 (!):

The German were in the trenches. The Russians got a lot of vodka before the attack. With force of arms drove the Russian officers hundreds of Russian into German machine-gun fire. drunken. This film isn´t realistic. Never again war!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@familiezint why not realistic ? yes movie this is not real war in real life . BUT movie not bad.

About drink vodka and etc . - yes this this true . In ww2 german lost 11 million (6-8 million on eastern front).

Soviets lost 47 million (22 million soldiers and others civilians)

On 1 german soldier - 5 soviets soldiers and workers(militia)

Hi Vlad,sorry but you are not right: German lose: 3.250.000 soldiers, 3.640.000 civilians= 6.890.000 deaths

russia lose: 13.600.000 soldiers, 6.000.000 civilians= 19.600.000 deaths, perhaps a bit more but never 47 million, same to germans!

We will hope that never comes again!

@familiezint Yes, the figures and the stories related make your text quite true. Poor of Russian soldiers, your father, and mine (an Italian today is death), who fougth in North africa. He always spoke very well of Germans. I agree with you: Never more Wars!

да в начале войны и по ходу в похожих ситуациях наших конечно косили из МГ34 и 42 и давили на панцерах. но в др случаях наши илы2, т34ки, артиллерийское наступление сравняли с землей их этих фрицов в окопе, укреплениях и городах. вот про это надо было показать в фильме. тогда вааще не будет критики и споров
