Once In Royal David's City - Hymn Tune: IRBY.
This beautiful Christmas Carol has always been one of my most beloved. When I was an Episcopal Church Organist, I always had the Men and Boy's Choir sing it on Christmas eve, it would put goose bumps on you. In my version, I elevate to the Key of G on the last verse.
( There are only 4 verses to this beautiful Hymn, but I added an extra one so I could use the Chimes as a Solo verse ).
" Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior..." Luke 2:11
Thank you for visiting and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Lance †
** This is a remake with better Audio for your listening pleasure. Please use Headphones to hear the spatial separation and Cathedral effect, it really makes a big difference. Try it !

Thinking of our School Carol Service in the Church, Lance, and remembering a boy in my Class, Alistair, who would open the Service by singing Verse 1 as Solo. I am going back to 1958. Sadly, a fortnight ago, I read of his sudden passing in Perthshire. He was 4 days older than me. I have treasured, happy memories of those bygone days in Macduff, my hometown. Often, while walking over the hill, I see the Station, the dear old Kirk and our old School. Many thanks, Lance. Charlie.

That was amazing. It is the perfect song for Christmas as the opening hymn.
I will watch all your videos till the day of my death.
God Bless

I enjoy your playing so much. I am fascinated by the sound of this Viscount church organ. It is the type of organ sound I really like for a church organ in lieu of a pipe organ.
I am really blessed by your wonderful talent and stand for Christ. I remember my days of playing so many of these glorious hymns in church as well as at home in extensive practice.
Do keep more coming all the time.
May God Bless You!
