@eurovisionuk2008 the clock movement is from the 1300's, they had no faces, just they chimed the hour.

The old working device made in 14th century was replaced in XIXth century by a new one. In 1929 an expecialist in tower clocks discovered the old clock and it was restored in the 50,s. The original foliot was replaced maybe in 17th century by a pendulum, but the restorers replaced this pendulum with a new foliot escapement in the 50´s. It´s very hard to find an old clock with its original foliot because the pendulum was more accurate and most old foliots were replaced in 17th and 18th centuries.

OK... I just read from Wikipedia that the striking mechanism was "silenced". Obviously text has some errors or I did'nt understand.
Thank you for showing me it's fully working. :)

There isn't one - you can only tell the time by the number of chimes... Every quarter of an hour the bells ring part of the "introduction". So at half-past, the bells ring half of the intro and so on...

i cant see the clock face
Salisbury does have a 14th century clock and it's working and it's mechanism is on display but I thought that the striking mechanism was halted (silenced) even if it was repaired.
Or does Salisbury have two of them?

As you can hear and see in the video, the striking mechanism is definitely working. The tour guide said nothing about a second clock.
