Songs: Big Boss Man You Gave Me a Moutain Fairytale
In the last days of 1976 Elvis Presley started a 5 days tour from 27 to 31 of December.
It began in Wichita, Ks (27), Dallas, Tx (28), Birmingham, Al (29), Atlanta (Ge) (30) and ended in Pittsburgh (Pa), for a new years eve concert!

Now, over 30 years passed those concerts are mythical!

Not only those were, by far, Elvis best tour from 1976, but those concerts showed the King in a Top From, and are ranked among his best 25 concerts from 1971 to 1977.

The New Years Eve Concert was absolutely Outstanding (much better than the Pontiac New Years Eve concert from 1975/1976 that was a very good show).
Elvis was on Stage for almost 90 minutes, with a stage presence that everybody thought he had lost, made fantastic versions, with a voice that was better than ever!

You cant really tell a highlight from this show, but the 1977 part is, for sure, among Elvis best Stage presences from the seventies! Trying to get to you, Polk Salad Annie, Jailhouse Rock (yes!), Reconsider Baby, Rags to Riches or Unchained Melody are unique, breathtaking, FANTASTIC! And Hurt is a show toper that explain why Elvis Presley is The King of Rock and Roll!
And in the end, like he had done the previous night in Atlanta, Elvis give us a karate demo tho bring the house down!

Ladies and Gentlemen, sit back and enjoy one moment in Rock History: The King Live on Stage in Pittsburgh (Pa), for a new years eve concert, 1976/9177.

Ill upload near 42 minutes of that concert, in 5 parts, with good image, nice edit and sound, and some fantastic close up shots!

Youll be able to see The King On Stage like you never thought it would be possible in 1976/1977.

  • Muito bom! Obrigada pela postagem.

  • @Sethtyphon: I have a first generation copy of that footage, it is in fact 10 times better than this here. In the beginning Elvis starts out with a guitar and on my footage (CC Rider, I Got a Woman) I can see each string on the guitar, even the thin one (high E). BTW there are 7 different camera angle from that show, in fact I could cover the entire show with the footage I have and all of it is in mint quality, you would not believe it is 8mm footage.

  • @molliech Excuse me? If you mean this about the pittsburg show you gotta be kidding me he looked damn good and sang out of this world

  • The months following this concert must have been the begining of the end for him.He actually looks good here.Amazing how quickly he deteriated. So sad.

  • @molliech

He went out in public because the world loved him and wanted to see him. Don't blame him for shit. He may not have looked as good as he did before, but still far better than anybody else in the world because he's Elvis fuckin Presley. There's NOTHING embarrassing about that. Continue the love for his life and music and leave all the negative bullshit out of it. These are words coming from a fan who's NOT in denial.

  • he looks like he smells damit. why did he even go out in public. He did not look good, why are you people in denial? I loved him just like the rest of you, but he is almost embarrassing.

  • His best concert from 1974-1977

  • This was a good concert. but who the heck butcherd this film. It's alwful, as it jumps from one song to another. My dvd dose not do this nin sence.

  • From all acounts..this was a great show. Very strange that just 6 months earlier, he was much much heavier. So here, it appears that he is on his way back to slimming down but again, 6 months later in June for his CBS special, he is bigger than ever. I don't know how or why he would have let himself be taped for that TV special in the shape he was in. They should have taped this show. What a rolley coaster ride he was on with his weight..but really, the drugs took him down for good.

  • Great video,he look so good
