Bothered by the cuts? Sorry about that. They were there when I got the film. Here's a link to the complete transcription.

  • What the I just saw a google add on the Kennedy-Nixon Debate

  • @imlatinoguy - Do you know where I can find it?

  • @imlatinoguy yea its on the youtube video. Ya know most videos have adds on them LOLOLOLOL!

  • @imlatinoguy - Oh, I thought you meant a TV ad. Yes, that is how I make money off of the video.

  • @MiscVideos78rpm : I enjoyed it a lot ! I knew about it, but never had seen it.

It is an historical document. The first time that live TV had an influence on how people can judge politicians. It is a democratic right to vote, but we can do better. Correct information is the key to achieve it. This TV document was a first step in the right direction, so it was and still is, very important. Especially for young people, learning from the past, they will be able to understand the present.

  • @4807avh - Glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • Kennedy was a respectable man and definitely a fantastic president, but I do always feel like he is perhaps a touch OVERrated. Most of the admiration and worship of him comes from the bias of the baby boom generation that not only he had catered to in his election, but were also still young during his assassination, providing him with martyr-like characteristics. That same generation passed their opinion down to THEIR children and made and developed all the books and films that praise him so.

  • The man never drank a Duff in his life

  • @smitty01209 It was the baby boom generation that lived during the Kennedy years. So, of course, those opinions are based on experience. I can assure you, Kennedy was a remarkable man and a remarkable president. Listen to his speeches, news conferences, interviews and make up your own mind...he of course was human, but as president compare him to everyone who came after him.

  • I WATCHED THIS LIVE, I WAS 8 YEARS OLD, KIDS BACK THEN WERE REALLY INTO THAT RACE...I THOUGHT KENNEDY WAS FULL OF CRAP BACK THEN. LATER I LEARNED THAT HE DID PROPOSE TAX REDUCTION WHICH WAS GOOD, BUT SEEING THIS DEBATE AGAIN, I SEE HE WAS TALKING ALL THIS BIG GOVERNMENT BULLCRAP.TEN YEARS LATER I BECAME A FULL BLOWN LIBERTARIAN, I VOTED FOR NIXON BECAUSE HE SAID HE WAS SMALL GOVERNMENT AND HE FAILED MISERABLY...SINCE THEN I ONLY VOTE FOR LIBERTARIANS.RON PAUL 2012...IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING

  • @smitty01209 Yup...and they forget that he actually increased u.s. involvement in vietnam. Johnson was just following his lead.

  • @smitty01209 same thing with Reagan and any other President.

  • I find it amazing that @7:27 he (JFK) said that he doesn't think that he could reduce the Federal defict in '61, '62 or '63 the only teats in office before his assassination.

  • @smitty01209 That's true, but the fact that he died left a void...and we fill that void with good ideas and hopes that if he did live through his term,he would be that great fantastic president we all over rate him to be. He was a good man with good intentions and died probably for his lack of being a political puppet.

  • @smitty01209 I'm not trying to start anything, but how was he a fantastic president?

  • Were people smarter then? They're actually discussing nuts and bolts! Nixon's program for farmers turned into a huge handout in the form of subsidies and actually caused prices to inflate. History has proved him wrong on that one.

  • An era in which presidential candidates would actually have a reasonable and intelligent debate. An era which is long gone.

  • One thing that really impressed me about this particular debate is the presence of the one thing that you just don't see in the debates of today. That one thing is good manners. Oh for good ole days. Nixon and Kennedy were respectful to each other. These days, I'm not too sure what to call it, but I sure wouldn't call it civil.
