What would it be like if there was a conspiracy you could unravel, video by video, episodically revealed?
What if a series of questions were posed every week or month in the form of mysterious pictures, sound clips, and video footage that allowed you to decipher the answers yourself?
Your First Question: What does Anagorisis mean?
-
This is a concept I'm considering; a kind of online series in which a fictional photographer presents images, sounds, and maybe video (depends on my ways and means) to uncover a mystery. But he will require the participation of the viewers like YOU to manage it, piecing through his footage and pictures to find clues and making connections.
This video is just a representation of the atmosphere the game might have. If I really do go ahead with this all the footage and images I use from then on will be original materials made for the project.
The way this would work would be weekly, perhaps monthly installments of an ongoing story concerning the camera man mole in a secret society, directly reporting to the audience itself, treating them as his contact. As each image or film clip is posted there will be some time to form theories and determine the answer to the growing number of questions posed, including The Big Question which I won't reveal unless I actually put this together. The narrative will be planned from the start so the progression will be logical, but kept purposefully vague until the final installment and reveal.
I'm interested to hear if this sounds like a good idea, and maybe if you know or are yourself intrigued by the creation of this game!

This concept is based admittedly on several existing series. One is Youtube's own excellent Marble Hornets series, a kind of horror movie take on both episodic videos and an unfolding mystery. Of course the show Lost is an inspiration, as are the videos I borrowed from for this trailer including the French movie The Orion Conspiracy, the upcoming video game Singularity, X-Files, and The Conduit.

  • BTW to answer your question, Anagnorisis means the discovery of critical pieces of information, as long as I know.

  • Indeed, and there's more interpretations as well to the word.

I chose the name specifically because of multiple definitions.

    Well pointed out! :)

  • where do you get your movie clips?

  • @corezero678

Actually a lot of these are taken from live action commercials for video games like Singularity and The Conduit, both taken from the site Gametrailers.

  • Reminds me off the Super 8 teaser website. It's like an old school computer you type inquieries into. It's really neat

  • Government conspiracy FTW

  • Masons are less common then you might suppose.

  • @Tyrhandrer So's my grandfather. Big deal.

  • My family has mason ties too. Not quite so near as your own apparently.

I like the idea of masons being secret heroes rather then secret villains, more like National Treasure.

  • good trailer. nice job

  • Good trailer

  • this sounds like it could be a lot of fun
