"Against The Odds" tells the amazing story of Dr. Emad Rahim, a survivor of the Cambodian Killings Fields. Dr. Rahim overcame a lot of adversity, from losing his older brother and father in a concentration camp in Cambodia, surviving an abusive household, participating in gangs and struggling with a learning disability, to becoming an award winning educator, author and successful business owner. Dr. Rahim hopes his story empowers and motivates young people to complete their education and fulfill their professional goals.
"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." ~John Dewey

Many thanks for sharing your inspiring story. I have been to Cambodia last year and saw the Killing Fields and the Genocide Museum. Can't even imagine how much pain and suffering civilians went through under Pol Pot's regime. I have been researching about the holocaust and came upon your video.Your story proves that we cannot change the past, but we can change ourselves, for the betterment of all. Absolutely amazing. Again, thanks. And much respect and love to you and your beautiful family! :)

Dr. Rahim, are you Cambodian converted to Muslim or a Cham/Cambodian living in Cambodia at the time? I'm asking because of your name.

Truly inspirational! I feel so thankful to God for His grace over your life. Thank you for choosing to live in the Light, rather than die from the poison of anger & bitterness. What you are doing for the communities here and in the land of your birth is beyond price. May the ripples spread ever wider! Insha'Allah!
