You have to keep in mind that this is v0.05 of the menu. The cart isn't even on sale yet, this is just the version that was sent to a few of us who act as testers and developers.
Since the menu has been open sourced there's no doubt that there will be improvements made to it. The MD Myth menu looked pretty much like this in the beginning, but it has been improved greatly. Search for "NEO Myth MD 3in1 flash cart starting some games" to see how it looks now.

Gotta say, not regretting for a moment that I got the PowerPak. The menu system, while primitive and perhaps in need of improvement (especially in terms of how it scrolls a ROM list that's longer than the screen in a looping fashion, with the z* titles followed again by . and ..), nonetheless blows this away.
