Claramae Turner [creator] BOMARZO Scene 6 (Alberto Ginastera) with Salvador Novoa and Brent Ellis [creator roles]. The World Première of this work was sung to the original Spanish libretto of Manuel Mujica Láinez by the Opera Society of Washington in 1967. In this excerpt the characters are sung by Claramae Turner (Diana Orsini, Grandmother of Pier Francesco), Salvador Novoa (Pier Francesco Orsini, Duke of Bormarzo, called Vicino), Brent Ellis (Maerbale, brother of Pier Francesco) with Chorus (Ladies and Courtiers) and Orchestra of The Opera Society of Wahington, Julius Rudel, conductor. This scene is set in the great hall of the Orsini palace where Pier Francesco, after the death of his father, is proclaimed Duke of Bomarzo. Pier Francesco, fearful that he has seen the ghost of his father during the ceremony, is assured by his grandmother, Diana Orsini, "Your father is dead.
