This is my addled reaction to what I heard a doctor spout at a recent seminar. Unbelievable ignorance about the immune system, gluten sensitivity and celiac.

I also explain the REAL way to tell if you're sensitive to gluten.

  • I had the celiac test done by our family dr. I suspect a gluten sensetivity, but the test was negative. What is the difference between celiac and gluten sensetivity, and is there a way to determine if it's caused by leaky gut?

  • @liajoy83 Celiac is a kind of gluten sensitivity. The way a poodle is a kind of dog. You can't really determine if the gluten sensitivity was caused by a leaky gut. You can do a HLA DQ DNA typing with enterolabdotcom and find out if you have the genes that predispose you to gluten sensitivity or not. You can also do a leaky gut test with cyrex labs, but need a doctor to order it. So..if you don't have the genes, but DO have the leaky gut, then you could say the LG caused the gluten sensitivity.

  • In your opinion can casein trigger an autoimmune condition targeting the thyroid?

  • Would avoiding gluten posibly be a cure to ulcerative colitis or should I continue to take my Imuran prescription that my doctor gave me that suppresses my immune system?

  • @zizzyzam If I had Ulcerative Colitis, I would be on a gluten-free diet and I would get tested for Cross-Reactive foods. I can't tell you whether or not take a medication.

  • I noticed sense I stopped eating gluten my nose stopped being stuffy all the time.

Great info on Coffee cross-reacting, I have Crohn's, and diet and colloidal silver is the only thing keeping me off drugs.

  • Hello! I have a Question.. I have cyclic migraines that end in vomiting, a sensitive stomach, and vitamin D insufficiency. My sister supposedly has IBS and lactose intolerance. My mother also has lactose intolerance and suffers migraines. Her brother has Crohn's disease and his son has IBS. Could Celiac disease be the root of all these problems and the doctors just haven't figured it out yet? From research, I know that it can be confused with all those other things and is also genetic.

  • Diagnosed with Crohns 15 yrs ago. Told to eat a high protein , low fiber, low residue diet. A couple yrs ago, seen a internal medicine specialist who tested me for everything she could think of knowing I had another auto immune disease. About that same time started having symptoms of MS. Insurance company got my test results, dropped me (high-risk). Never fully developed MS but are still seeing problems when I eat. Pasta is most painful. Can't afford testing and doctors are clueless Ideas?

  • @clarkchiro Lots to learn! Thanks <3

  • I've commented on a number of your videos now, talked about my immune problems, possible fibromyalgia label, etc, and this video really had an impact on me. I've had a lot of problems but never related to digestion or food, but now I'm thinking maybe I do - I watched this video a couple of days ago, been gluten free since. What I want to ask is, do you recommend going gluten free for just anybody or should I get tested for sensitivity/celiac?

  • Yes, this was me! I didn't have any physical reaction of gluten sensitivity for years, but always felt sick, but the dr.'s were like,"there is nothing WRONG with you". Then, I take it out of my diet, and I'm great, add it back to my diet, and I get sick again...
