Asian carp were introduced to the US in the 1970s as weed eaters in Arkansas fish farms. They escaped and have proliferated in the Mississippi River since. The fish are now on the verge of entering Lake Michigan. Worries that the voracious fish could ruin the Great Lakes US$7 billion-a-year fishing industry have seen politicians and environmentalists suggest barricading the Chicago Sanitary and Shipping Canal.

  • @illustriouschin Asian carp actually are good to eat, they are not at all like the type of "carp" we are used to in the US that aren't good to eat. Most people just don't realize that.

  • Why is it that these alien species that are running amok are never good to eat?
