  • Great Video! Nice to see some of them going back down the hole! I am in southern Alberta, and would like to catch a few of these... How deep would you be fishing them this time of year?

  • @powelsnake Thanks for the comments. Anywhere from 16-20 ft last weekend at Gull. They are in pre-spawn mode and will head shallower to form "Ling Balls" during the mating ritual. Where bouts in AB?

  • @tchow1 Lethbridge area... There are a couple spots I fish Walleye and pike but I am sure there are big Ling in the area. I have never fished specifically for them but have caught a few fishing Walleye. Might go out this Friday or Saturday evening. Do you ever fish out that way?

  • @powelsnake Shall be in area by Taber for annual Sturg trip at Forks. Have fished right at Nicholas Sheran a few time too. Competed a few years back on the SAWT trail and over to 40 Mile as well as Chin.

  • have you fished wizard lake for lings? what do you use ?

  • @thealphamale0806 Never fished Wizard lake before. I've caught Ling on almost anything that can attract them in. At times they will hit just on aggression immedaitely. Other times, it will attract in but will wait and take their time before hitting the bait

  • @tchow1 Sounds fun! I have fished the forks a time or two for Walleye but never Sturgeon! Good Luck!

  • Jigs were of 3/8 to 1/2 oz Jigs with Parker Minnows. Used a couple other Jigs ( can;t remember name of them ) which the Jig head would lite once emersed in water. Worked great as they would attract the fish in

    Thanks for the comment

  • more specifically what size of jig head. Great video btw.

    thanks

  • On a nice nite out can be alot of fun. Lin are primarily more active during the evening. With the pre-spawn and post Spawn, expect more action to happen at nite. Except... if you get on top of Ling Ball..
