  • just wondering if you are still running the smog pump? i have a novi 2000 on my 5.0 and want to remove it. the problem is the alternator bolts onto the pump. the alternator had to be re located.

  • @351mustang69

just purchase a smog pump eliminator for 60.00 problem solved.

  • @351mustang69

  • I have an 89 GT convertable. I love it. very amazing powerful car, next I want to get an IROC Z. 89 also, and last but not least. a 69 fucking camaro z28 red with white stripes, and then im complete with cars

  • I did buy a ford racing eliminator. The problem is that since the alternator has been relocated, it has a bracket that attaches the alternator to the actual smog pump. There is no threaded hole on the ford racing bracket that would allow the alternator bracket to bolt up.

  • The 500HP point isnt neccesarily correct though thats usually what happens. My dad had a friend years ago that had a bone stock 93 cobra motor (ported GT40s) with I believe a Novi 2000 and he made way over 600HP and it lived for a LONGGGG time. It never blew up but I think they went to an A4 block I cant remember. The guy has a big mustang shop up north and he said the biggest thing is to have a good balancer. His wasnt the only high HP 5.0 either my dad can name a ton more that made over 500hp

  • Holy crap, did you like go back in time to 1989 and go buy it off some lot then bring it back to present?!?!?!?

  • how much hp you making? what size maf, throttle body, injectors, fuel pump? any worries on splitting the block.. according to mustang forums stock 302 blocks break around 500hp
