Tapesh 2012:
Omid Pour Yousefi founded the dynamic musical collective Tapesh 2012 together with his brother Amin in the Ruhr city of Bochum in early 2006. Their vision was to fuse elements from different music genres and languages.
Shortly afterwards, Tapesh 2012 won the Creole Award for world music from the North Rhine-Westphalia region.
This was followed by appearances at major German festivals such as Bochum Total, Kemnade International and the Traumzeit (Dreamtime) Festival. The Tapesh 2012 collective has recorded three albums, and more than 20 musicians from seven countries have contributed so far.
Tapesh 2012 is the first group anywhere in the world to have songs and albums in German, English and Farsi. Voice of America, the BBC, El Arabia and the German broadcasters WDR and ZDF have reported on the group several times.
Despite numerous requests, the band have made no live appearances since the beginning of the year. The concert in Stockholm on oktober 1st 2009 was the only Tapesh 2012 performance scheduled for 2009.
