Excellent lecture. I have read Spengler's book and it is actually a very difficult read. Still I persevered. Anyway, just an observation: Spengler asserts that civilizations last around a 1000 years from ascent to final decline. I believe that contemporary civilizations and those to come will rise and fall a lot more quickly because of technology and the movement of information. Therefore, rather than a 1000 years rises and falls will happen in a lot less time eg China today.
