I opened my first business, a wig salon, at age nineteen. With my son by my side, I lost my business and was homeless with my son at age twenty-two. At twenty-three, I reinvented myself and created Michele 71, giving haircuts in offices in New York City. I secured a home in Manhattan, 333 66th Street, worked three jobs, saved my money, and opened up my first hair salon, Bobbys Mothers Place at 1375 Broadway. I opened three more salons, closed two of them and sold two of them. I met my second husband in Michele Haircutters on 563 7th Avenue, after being a single mother to my son for twelve years. We married on June 18, 1979, and our marriage lasted exactly thirty years to the date. In 1982, I sold my haircutting businesses, opened Micheles Restaurant in Calicoon, NY, and moved to Damascus, PA. I authored a cookbook and created a sauce company, Micheles Continental Sauces. I invented and manufactured six gourmet sauces and was featured on the T.V. Food Network. I also won the Tiffany Crystal Award of the Eastern Dairy and Deli Association for the best product of the year in 1993. This was my Emmy. In 2002, due to family illness, I retired and moved to the active adult community of Pebble Creek, AZ. It was there that I learned to paint and I reawakened my passion for dancing again. I turned 60 on June 18th, 2007. It was then that I remembered my pledge to God. I wrote my first book titled All About My Time Now, for my own spiritual growth. In 2009, I entered the Miss Senior Arizona Pageant, so that I could do charity work for the Alzheimers Association. There I discovered that I could work full-time and start my own foundation to fullfill my humanitarian dreams. So I moved back to Damascus, PA on April 30th, 2009. I am presently maƮtre d at the Villa Roma and on my days off we will have weekly support groups facilitating and healing therapy at my residence for those in my community that need a place to heal their mind and soul. Please feel free to call for dates of meetings. I have created my own nonprofit foundation, All About My Time Now Inc., and will be turning my five bedroom, four bathroom home on 55 acres into a facility to help women returning from serving our country. There are two large ponds and a small barn which will be restored. I am looking for donations to help me with these first endeavors. You can send a check to ALL ABOUT MY TIME NOW INC. 349 Steiner Road, Damascus, PA 18415. These funds will be used only for adding to this program so I will be able to hire therapists and continue my aspirations to help these women. I want to give these women motivation to achieve their goals in life, like I have achieved mine, through much adversity. I plan to have staff on call to help heal these women in mind and body through art, music, horses, dance and country therapy. I myself will be a motivational speaker and a beacon of light for these women. I want to wash away some of the pain in this world by helping these women who will be mothers of future generations.
