  • This took forever to come out, I remember asking LCB about it!

  • @MaharlikaAWA I never said there was anything wrong with what American Street Punk and Oi is showing. I was disagreeing with Norskskinnskalle.

  • @MaharlikaAWA I never objected to what american street punk and Oi was showing. I was objecting to Norskskinnskalle's comment

  • @roboimp So whats wrong with what American Street Punk and Oi is showing? How are they doing the opposite of "not following the rules of society and pissing people off." Are you trying to say punks are somehow moral people who care about other peoples feelings and want to do good for society? I would say NOOOO!

  • @MaharlikaAWA The Sex Pistols may have set out to do nothing but piss people off, but by doing that they were making a statement. They were total iconoclasts. They were destroying the rules society had set up by defying all social guidelines and rubbing it in the faces of the uptight public. And they had very outspoken political views, Johnny Rotten in particular. They were the sound of the working class, they represented the ruin the british public felt at the time.

  • @roboimp Yeah thats why punk sucks now. Bunch of pretentious people preaching rediculus politics they dont even live by. Especially hollywood punks like Henry Rollins. The sex pistols did not have any meaning and punk was extremely nihilistic. All they did was piss people off they didnt actually care nor do they now.

  • @MaharlikaAWA Punk never originally had any meaning? What about the Sex Pistols, campaigning against the monarchy? The Clash, fighting racism and showing support for socialist groups? X ray spex, spreading an anti consumerist message? Even the american hardcore groups used their music to spread a message. Dead Kennedys and TSOL sung about their distaste in Reagan. Black Flag sung about abuse at the hands of the cops. Minor Threat tried to end drug abuse. Punk has always had meaning.
