@walesxscarlets They used a 2 1/8" hole saw to drill out the hole for the knob and a 1" hole saw for the latch. Best practice is to read the instructions that came with the lock set you buy in case there are any variations.
Thank you for watching the Lowe’s YouTube Channel. –Lowe’s

@walesxscarlets I use a Ryobi 2 kilowatt beast of a router (half-inch) for really heavy work and a smaller Trend router for shallower rebates and mouldings. Been a carpenter for nearly 40 years now and like my kit although there's always arguments on site as to what's the best. Brand loyalty and all that! Hope I've been some help

@walesxscarlets Did seem like he was allowing a bit too much leeway didn't it?The combination lock above needs a hole that size.Maybe the Americans don't like changing cutters! He wasn't using a router.Just an electric drill and a cutter with a bush as far as I could make out with a proprietry jig.I usually make my own jigs from half inch MDF.Trend do a good range of adjustable jigs for locks, hinges, kitchen work-tops,staircases,letter-pl
ates etc...but they're not cheap.Nor are the cutters. -
@Rikk303 hey im from the uk too i was worried at the size of the hole too lol, by any chance do you know what router he used?

Thank you Lowes, but you left out how to use wood filler to fill in the old door knob hole.
