A short film about the Hand-held [un]conference, which brings together over 100 people from all walks of life for a day, to brainstorm solutions on young parents and homelessness using social innovation and participatory media. Politicians, medical professionals, service-providers, media-makers, and people with first-lived experience of homelessness come together in an open-source environment, facilitated by Misha Glouberman. An NFB Filmmaker-in-Residence project (http://www.nfb.ca/filmmakerinresidence/).
nice to see misha doing something serious. lots of familiar faces. good to see solid dialog happening. i like the idea of what people say when others aren't in the room, and then confronting those stereotypes in a healthy way that aims for transformation. props.
