It's kinda ironic that both had back injuries that forced them to pull out from the olympics. But they were both beautiful gymnasts.

I really do not how their parents can allow this. their are responsible for them and they should know. and later their child has huge problems, and may say: oh parents why didn't you warn me.

lol, actually flexibility increasesthe risk of a problem in the back called spindiolosis...My mom was a level 10 gymnast and extremely flexible.
So it's actually bad for them.
Both of these gymnasts featured now have severe back problems..soo...

Flexibility needs to be balanced out with strength. Over stretching caused the back problems. When you have the flexibility and not enough strength, you slightly lose control over the certain muscle region and you have increased risk of injury.
