I generally blindly accepted everything I was taught in my church's youth program but their teaching on gender expression was so blatantly hypocritical I didn't fully buy into it even at the time. The way we chose to express our gender is determined entirely by peer pressure.
The whole religion game is the entire problem. It presupposes ownership rights over a human being. The most wickedly immoral thing that anyone, including so called "god" could do. Once you have ownership rights, then you have "ex gay camps" Do you see how it all evolves out of the same nonsense?

@lostqueer "It is B.S. and amazing how many people blindly follow & enforce it because of an obscure fear" I feel the same way about "god"

Good for you! I'm glad you were able to make it out of that barbaric idea of ex gay therapy! those people should be put in jail for causing so much pain and heartache instead of helping. I know that if Jesus came back right now he would tear down all those so called "Christian" churches and hate mongering groups. You need to get the word out to others that may be in your situation and tell them it's ok. Good luck and God Bless YOU!

I totally agree with you about "what clothing belongs to what gender is not determined by God, it's determined entirely by the culture." It is B.S. and amazing how many people blindly follow & enforce it because of an obscure fear. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Fi that's the case then who should wear the cellular phone, a man or a woman? I find that idea to be crazy too.

In fact, this is hypocritical. They say that giving in to peer pressure is a sin and yet they want their victims to give in to the peer pressure they have created themselves, to conform us to these people with "Stepford Wives." SAD.
