  • Ever had any problems with the Mark II, Jeff? i've got one and i don't know if it sat around for too long or what but its extremely hard to get apart (the pin going up through the bolt is stuck in there so hard you have to tap it with a hammer to get it in and out) and it jams on me a bit on the factory mag. Mind you, its a "standard", the old blued mark 2 pistol, probly a 4 or 5 inch barrel on it.

  • Try different ammo to correct the function problem. Thos Ruger 22 pistols can be a pain sometimes to strip and reassemble, but take your time, and use a bigger hammer.

  • @Gunblastdotcom alright, but it's already fairly beat up at this point. planning on getting a browning buckmark when I get the chance, I hear a lot of good things about it.

Also ah, I've been meaning to ask someone but most of my friends that own guns don't really have the answer; is it safe to use rifle bore cleaner on pistols to get out all the gunk and act as a lubricant? and I was wondering what type of oil to use on my blued guns so they don't rust while in storage.

  • I use Break Free CLP to clean and lubricate. If you have heavy bullet jacket metal in the bore, use Wipe Out, and then CLP.

  • hows this pistol compare to rugers new SR22 pistol?

  • The SR22 is smaller, lighter, and easier to maintain, but the longer barrel and heavier weight make the Mark easier for most to shoot accurately.

  • It's right there at the beginning and the end of the video - "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", played by Pete Huttlinger.

  • Not in these parts - maybe if you live in a Communist area.

  • Beautiful looking pistol. I've always liked the Ruger Mark III with the bull barrel and it looks great with the "1911" looking handle.

  • Jeff, you make the best quick reviews of anyone. Keep up the good work.

  • @doomsday440 Get a speed strip kit from Majestic Arms. I just put one in my 22/45 and it works well. I had to do some hand fitting with a stone on the bolt base, but it works well. The trigger pull is ALOT better and no more magazine disconnect. To do a regular cleaning on mine now takes just a few seconds.
