It woulda been better if background music was used instead. Very nice landings tough. I got my PPL in Texas, USA. I'd like to fly when I visit home. Are there sectionals in the Philippines? I guess most people use GPS. I have a Garmin 296 wonder if it'll work well.

I have the same GPS as you do.
Sectionals are an American invention. We use WAC (World Aeronautic Charts) and ONC (Operational Navigational Charts), 1:500,000 and 1:1,000,000 scale. If you really want to fly low and slow, helicopter pilots use the military-issue TPCs (Tactical Pilotage Charts) which show even villages and hamlets :-)
See Flying in Crosswinds (Google it, I can't post URLs here) for stories and pictures about flying in the Philippines.

Hmmm...747 landings in 8 152...hope this dude doesn't ever get an engine failure on failure...he'll be just a bit short!

You don't know the half of it. That's a 33-foot highway overpass, a 33-ft concrete pole on top of it, all of 330 ft from the threshold. The runway is only 1,980 ft long. The lines on the runway are for spot-landing competitions. Did you mean "engine failure on FINAL"? The engine is already in idle at this point. It was an exercise in power-off spot-landing over the proverbial 50-foot obstacle onto a short field. In a crosswind. At a flying school. :-D
