A video tour of John Steinbeck's other New York house -- the one by the sea in Sag Harbor, Long Island. Caretaker John Stefanik let me walk around while he and his son did their work on the evening of Sept. 22, 2010. Steinbeck left on his "Travels With Charley" trip on Sept. 23, 1960. The next morning I came back to the house and started retracing that 10,000 mile trip around the USA. Don't ask me why. Visit TravelsWithoutCharley2010.com
Correction: In my voiceover I say that Steinbeck waded out on his pier to rescue his boat during Hurricane Donna; it was actually his neighbor's pier that his boat was pinned against after breaking loose from its anchor in the middle of Morris Cove.
