Maken X Speedrun (Part 6 of 6)

This is my speedrun for Maken X by Atlus and it's Research and Development 1 team. It is on the US version, complete with butchered translation (Ugh, they messed with Kei Sagami's first name! I ain't saying her first name as said in the US version of the game, cause it sounds dumb! However, it seems the translation was done completely by Sega, and the translation is no longer like this in later Atlus games.)

Here is the lowdown of this speedrun:

- Shortest possible path
- Aims for 'Sacrifice' ending
- BrainJack rank never goes up past 1
- Never brainjacked another character manually in the game

The run does not look very good around parts of the second last area before the final level, and the fight with the boss fights at the end of the Forbidden City aren't really that good, however I was playing this game for hours on end and I was nervous at that point!

The time starts on first cutscene fade-in, and it stops when the final hit is dealt on Geist.

awesome speed run! i think the sacrifice route is the only one i never took. there were SO many different ways to play thru, i beat it about 4 or 5 times before i actually saw everything there was to see (or so i thought). i had no idea you were able to play as kou or awakened kei! damn, this makes me want to dig up my dreamcast and give it another go

I think that is the one true ending actually. Brainjack meter is all the way up if I can remember correctly.

I know that you posted this comment a year ago, but, did you dig up your dreamcaster and find out how to play as Kou?

It's just, I really need help doing that...

You see, I don't know how...

Sorry, also, I think that only dreamcast allows you to play some of the areas in this game, for you see, the Dreamcast changes all the stages, makes them different...

I've never seen Kou look like that before so i'm assuming that only dreamcast version allows you to play as him...

But them again, I don't know, I hope not because i'm gonna play again and try and get the conversation right to be able to play as Kou...

If you meant the stage than yes. However, the enemies are different in all levels and, of course, this version is in english and not Japanese...

By the way, do you know how this guy got to use that character?

I think I messed up the conversation to get him...
