Beethoven's Op. 27 No. 2 Moonlight Sonata 1st movement - Adagio sostenuto played on a Yamaha P-70.

The first song that I learnt so far. Completed in 3 months (after started self teaching piano for 4 months).
Comparing to a Casio Privia PX-110, the Yamaha sounds much better and the key action feels slightly lighter. Since it's lighter, the sound of the keys "clomping" is way less noisier than in the Privia.

This is my oldest interpretation of this song and it's raw yet.

  • I'm planning on learning this before my next recital so I can play it. If I do learn it I'll have someone record it then I'll post it on YouTube and as a response to this ;D

  • @NeverEndingBlackHole oh do learn it! it's so beautiful. and please post as a response, it's an honor.

  • Do you have chords for this song, and are the keys easy and nice to press?

    I will might buy one...

    thanks!

  • @Crysis97 The keys are somewhat heavy, since it imitates the keys of an acoustic piano, but for the price it's fairly good. As for the chords, you can get the sheet music (easily obtained on the internet) and try to read it.

  • @TheStunningThing I think your point is valid, but I think it depends on the situation. Both are very important to piano playing and musicianship in general. It's good if you know how to play by ear and improvise, but at the same time it's important to play all the notes that the composers wrote on the sheet music. Mozart and Beethoven were well known improvisers, but what would become of their works if they did not leave us printed music? All in all, ear and sight are both important.

  • @casioPX500L I recommend you learn how to read sheet music, it's not that hard =) so you would be able to learn anything you want, not just the built-in songs.

  • @Jstarfully But I can play this piece. And it has all the emotion.

  • @diegosgc Haha if you think that you will never be able to play this piece! This is so robotic even though technically correct. This would never get a good grade in an exam or recital.

  • @OGvanillaface I think the notes already show the emotion...

  • you play with no emotion!

  • for some reason this reminds me of gears of war

  • you should be proud of yourself for that man, nicely done, its difficult to play that piece correctly, let alone, play it correctly as well as passionately... and to the ones who disliked this performance, there's obviously someting wrong with you to start with so your opinion doesn't count...

  • beautiful, I listen to this everyday when I'm studying

  • I love this song...so sad...but it does resonate huh?
