Turn Up the Radio by Autograph (solo by Steve Lynch)

While executing flashy moves on the guitar is difficult, the real challenge is incorporating them tastefully in a way that compliments the song. Guitarist Steve Lynch pulled that off masterfully with this gem from Autograph's "Turn Up the Radio." The first section essentially outlines an A7 chord. The second part culminates with an intricate descending run in 6ths that also spells the A7 chord. The third section outlines the underlying harmony with finger taps. And the fourth part uses taps and bends to phrase the melody.

Since I have nails on my right hand, I had to do some of the taps a little differently.

Auditioned for an '80's metal band last week. Thanks to this video, I nailed the solo and surprised the guys'. Didn't get the gig, though, (52, fat with shortish hair) but they said I ws the best technical player they had auditioned. Thank you, again. That is my favorite solo from that era. Guess I better give up the buffet, lol.
