promm6767... I've noticed that anyone who disagrees with your opinion is automatically bigoted as if you are the benchmark for what is true. It seems you cannot debate issues with someone unless you call them names
@woodsprout The bible I mentioned was The Holy Bible. Yes, it was written by humans but then again, I don't know of anything that wasn't written by humans.
@woodsprout....As a man who actually believes in marriage (I know that seems strange in today's society) I can hardly disagree with you there. I think it's a shame that there is so much divorce today.
@woodsprout.If I am right and that is your point, I still disagree. First of all, there is no shortage of available women in American society and that's WITH a polygamous community already numbering approximately 40,000 so that point would be at best hypothetical. Secondly, some men have two or three girlfriends and are not polygamous(please note that this is NOT against the law either). Therefore, you are condemning polygamists for something that monogamists do too and that's a double-standard.
@woodsprout .......I should have read this comment before replying to the other. So, now that I understand your point, we can continue this debate.
You believe that the men in mainstream monogamist society are being "abused" because the polygamists have taken all the women, thereby depriving them of the possibility of finding mates. Is that right?
@woodsprout...You used the term "lost boys" in two different cases. Therefore, before I go on, I would like to know exactly what you meant when you referred to "lost boys".
Do you mean:
a) The cases in which certain young men(lost boys) have been expelled from their communities. or
b)The example you used showing that polygamy would disrupt the 1:1 male-female birth ratio, thereby depriving large numbers of men (lost boys) of the right to have mates.
@prom6767 I'm not talking about "jobs" for the abandoned boys. I'm talking about opportunity for them to have wives and families. Polygamist communities fall very short in that reality. Polygamist communities abuse the rest of society by being selfish.

@prom6767 You have not explained yet the analogy of the lost boys in polygamy to the lost WHO? in monogamy.

@prom6767 As humans, let's work on that divorce rate, lets aim for more success.
