Sorry for the long wait to get this on the road again. Work sucks.
GLITCH TIEM! - If you noticed, the big brown robots don't even fire at you! I don't think it's an emulator problem as footage from the US version of the game on actual hardware seemed to produce the same result. Interestingly, even your robot animates differently if you play the game on a Japanese system. (Slides on wheels instead of runs when you double tap a direction) It might be a region problem, but I've yet to test it out.
Metal Head is one of the only two games I really like for the Sega 32X (the other being Stellar Assault).
What a fine game. Fast pumping metal music, giant robots, and... uh... fast pumping metal music! My favourite feature is the ability to change the tempo of the music for better headbanging sessions.
Seriously. This game rules. Very simple, primitive even, and with flaws, but with the right options on it's very enjoyable. I've been wanting to do a playthrough video of this for years now.
Played by Yart in Kega Fusion, with a Three Button controller setup.
