Maybe I'm alone in this, but my problems with the Confederate flag reaches beyond simple racism. It is a symbol of a time when the greatest nation in the world turned it's guns on itself and nearly destroyed itself. The Civil War is the single ugliest moment in our nation's history and literally turned family members against each other in blood. The Confederate flag is inextricably tied to it for eternity. We can't forget it, but we don't have to give it a place of honor either.

I've been reading some of the comments here and I have to say that, while I have my own opinions about the subject, I just think it's cool that a show that was canceled years ago can still be relevant enough to create a dialogue about this issue. I think that's a really good thing.

1) I have completely dominated your old, ignorant ass. 2) At the time due process was not a right for blacks. A constitutional amendment would've been necessary to change that. 3) The South was legally and morally right in its secession. 4) Nearly all major southern leaders were preparing for the end of slavery, but they wanted to do it on their terms, and repatriate the blacks to Liberia. This would've made our country much stronger and have less divisiveness. 5) Bye idiot.
