Mükemmel bir film ne denilebilirki,,,,

I can understand why people wouldn't understand this film because a lot of the themes aren't necessarily obvious. This film really reminded me of Ozu and the emphasis on the passing of time, the cycle of life etc but I think what makes it different is how pessimistic Leigh is. I mean, how should we react to Tom and Gerri? Are they genorous people or snobs who feed off the problems of their friends. One of the saddest things in life is feeling lonely but being surrounded by happy people.

Acting superb! totally believable, Mike Leigh getS into skin like no other, a masterpiece to relish. I was enraptured and captivated by the sublime ending.... I watched online stream because in Spain there is no audience for Mike Leigh´s films. 2 hours of pure magic worth 200 hours of hollywood fantasy..... Many in England are lonely because of the suspicious nature of the English!. Why oh why? The Spanish are such a sociable bunch that even on their own they are not allowed to be lonely! Thanks

I absolutely loved this film. It's truly one of my favourite films of all time. (If it helps to get an idea of demographic, I'm a 17 year old male from America). I know how it feels to be left with lackluster reaction to a film that critics loved, but this was not one of them. After seeing the trailer, I just had to see it. Looking through all of the reactions, I was surprised to see so much hate. I felt so incredibly drawn to every character, Gerri, MARY!, Tom, Ken. Great, great great.

Just saw this tonight at a preview screening. I laughed out loud, I cried. One of the mostly deeply human, warm, sad, happy, life-affirming, yet melancholic films I have ever seen. Mike Leigh and a wonderful cast at the very top of their collective game. Pure enjoyment and food for thought. What more can one ask for in a film? A candidate for film of the year.
