This is a clip from the documentary film 'We Dreamed America' directed by Alex Walker of Brickwall Films and featuring the band Kitty Daisy & Lewis.

The documentary delves deep into the dark recesses of the British Americana music scene, exploring the gritty underworld of the New British Country movement. It features an array of music from serveral artists, cultural and historical critiques from London's luminaries of musical journalism as well as a heady slice of perspective from some of Country and Americana's leading forefathers. We Dreamed America tells the story of what happens when Country music comes home.

The full film premiered at the South by South West Film Festival in Austin, Texas in March 2008 and is now available to buy on DVD (try Amazon).

Kitty Daisy & Lewis's self titled debut album is out now on Sunday Best Recordings.

  • whats the concert at 2:12??

  • that's from our Bestival festival 2007

  • what the name of the song she sings at 0:30 ?

  • "honolulu rock-a roll-a" ... its the 4th track on their album.

  • As an Alt-Country/Americana fan, I would love to see this documentary. Wonder if it will ever be available here in the U.S. ??

  • i dunno about the US but you can find it in the UK on Amazon. Dunno if that's helpful or not!

  • the future of music just got a little brighter.

  • I hope they never abandon analog recording. That's the only way to capture the click from a standup bass; the true, clear snap of a rimshot and the snares; the sound of a guitar pick striking a string, all there in an original analog recording. It can be copied fairly well to digital format later, but the original has to be made on high quality tape.

I'm grateful some people across the pond know how to play American Music because we're largely starving over here.

  • This is awesome. 5 Justin Bieber fans need to grow the fuck up and get some culture! :)

  • Talent!!!!!!

Awesome Music.....Keep going....What the world has been looking for....

  • was awesome when they gave a concert in a small theatre earlier this year. i had a drink with kitty afterwards, a chat with lewis and danced the whole night with daisy to the sound of the 50s. brill night that was.

  • Really nice harmonica playing!

  • I found this band quite by accident. I work in the music dept of Barnes & Noble, and was just cleaning up..came across the cd.

I have not heard anything like this in a long time. Analog recording is STILL the best. I've personally sold more of these CDs than any other at my store. I also sent this to my audiophile blues genius father..and he's worn out his copy.

  • @roscoe008 I can't understand the jump to all digital\electric\synthesized\overtaxed, etc. music... There are many songs nowadays that if you pulled back to acoustic\acapella, they sound very remarkable.

  • This band gives me hope that the music industry hasn't completely collapsed, you guys need to come to america, more people need to hear your music, it's great!

  • great raw talent we need more guys, fantastic music
