Whilst the am trips on the 951 seem to be all low floor buses, at least one of the evening return journeys continues to produce metrobuses (there are a pitiful 3 journeys each way on this bus now, and no evening inbound placement journeys which have given some great recordings in the past and which I just don't understand since the buses still run in from Walsall but now empty.:sigh:
3097 turned up for the 17.10 journey when I was in Birmingham on March 24th - this is now the only journey that runs via the underpass out from Birmingham as the other two run via the roundabout above - so I got the camera out and got some footage. Don't know what a full bus of peak commuters thought of me sat with my camera at the back but I'm sure it will enrich their lives in someway they don't yet know.
I remember travelling on this bus once before and it revving horrendously to get into 3rd gear (sadly that recording didn't turn out to well - I was still on cassette tapes at the time!) It is nowhere near as bad now, but does still rev a bit on gear changes. Nice run this, the only thing that can marr recordings on the 951 is if the Newtown-Scott Arms section of the dual carriageway is blocked up but on this occasion that wasn't the case thankfully
Indeed this doesnt like changing gear, see my video of this bus it was stuck in 1st! i love this bus! :D
