Tying the Producer with Chad Schiel and Emerge Fly Fishing Specialties. This fly has caught Chad more species of fish on a fly rod than any other pattern he has ever fished.

  • The trick to tying this fly well is having enough wieght in the egg, and a thick enough hackle collar to allow for wiggling of the fly as its swung or stripped.

  • Thanks for your comments... I think all of you will really like this fly.

  • That looks like the fly I need to catch local trout, bass and pickerel, maybe I could also use it to catch some Atlantic salmon. Great job and easy to tie.

  • Not a "normal looking leech" so that might be just what it takes... Worth a try.... interesting tie.

  • By far the best pattern in my opinion! Works for every species bass, carp, trout, walleye, big wipes!!

  • Looks wicked Chad. Thanks for the instructions and insights!

  • I saw this fly a while back on a tying website. I could not quite figure out how to tie it but now see it has some tricks. I came close and used my version this past weekend and the trout really hammered it. Now I can do it correctly. Thanks for a really great fly!

  • Great fly. I'll be trying a few of these in the near future!
