I have to tell you I love Pinks Hot Dogs, great food. For some reason there are not many hot dog stands in the Los Angeles market.
Now my tirade: Why do municipal workers such as the bus driver in this case feel he is a sacred cow? On Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 1:30am I spotted Los Angeles MTA Bus 30, CA Tag E051092, 6468 WSC-10 Out of Service with the engine running blocking traffic on La Brea Avenue. The driver ran in for food and blocked traffic for 11 minutes. Many people grumbled for having to wait 1 hour to get a hot dog and this guy blocks traffic and jumps to the front of the line! I do not go to Pinks when "I'm on the clock" neither should he. And a message to the Wachovia company, great advertising, many people saw your billboard in the middle of the road.
For you folks who read and view this presentation, I encourage you to send your comments to the Los Angeles MTA about this and your experiences.

  • FURTHER MORE....who the hell actually stands in line at Pinks? Are you a tourist from Wisconsin or something? NOBODY in LA goes to Pinks anyways...its REALLY not all that good tasting.

  • This is all we have as far as hotdogs go. Los Angeles needs more hotdog stands that do not cost $5.00 a hot dog!

  • WRONG WRONG WRONG! MTA buses DO have DESIGNATED "layover" spots where drivers can grab lunch, get out stretch their legs etc.

Drivers are NOT ALLOWED, in any way at all, to just stop the bus and run in for a bit to eat somewhere. NOT AT ALL. PERIOD. This driver is NOT allowed to do this. NEVER EVER.

Want to challenge me on this? CALL THE MTA AND COMPLAIN. See what you are told.

  • Thank You!

  • sorry dummy bus drivers don't have designated places to stop all the time, sometimes the regular lane of traffic is where they have to stop, blame the city not the driver and also bus drivers don't get lunch breaks like regular jobs

  • I'm not stopping them from a meal break, just do not stop at a busy place. They can visit Pinks on their own time!

  • @HenryChinaski405 YOU ARE NOT A DRIVER OK.....you dont know the company,or what we go thru every day,so shut up

  • @HenryChinaski405 You talk shit like that because YOU ARE NOT A BUS OPERATOR,and yes u can call the mta complain dep.and they will tell u that, so ppl like u can shut up and dont make a big ass deal out of nothing, like u are doing it.

  • CRAZY!!!

  • @fluffy1879 Hell no...Depending on how much time you have at the end of the line, you better hope you can stretch your legs...Now if your leader leaves out 3 minutes before you're scheduled to, then you can chill about another 10 minutes...

  • Tommy's makes good chili dogs!

  • some times our layovers are in the middle of no where and you have to use the restroom in route, the company also tells us that this is ok,so maybe you should do some research, before you get on here talking mess, some trips are two hours one way,THATS HALF WAY TO LAS VEGAS,so yes the driver should be able to get a DAMN hot dog, dummy

  • @henry

so what bus company do you work for? The union has been working on getting designated lunch hours for years, but in this type of job you really just want to do your shift and go home, not extend it an extra 30 just to eat,we eat when we can, traffic can go around,I'm sure the driver only has at most 15 min, maybe a little more,it depends

  • no we don't have regular breaks like regular jobs,we have something called recovery time, which means you need to check the bus to make sure its ok and after you do that then you can go use the restroom or get something to eat,THAT IS,IF YOU'RE NOT LATE,if you're late then you don't get a so called BREAK,we don't get a 30 min lunch like some jobs, believe me I know what I am talking about
