Groundwork's "Growing Together" project has now been working in Bury and Bolton for two years. With thirty new food growing sites established and over five hundred families engaged in horticultural activites, the project has grown in scope and impact since its launch in April 2008.
With BIG Lottery funding secured for a further year the project aims to continue to encourage greater parental participation in their children's learning. Families design, build and plant growing sites in accessible community areas including schools, children's centres and community centres.
Participants benefit by working together as a family, learning new skills and taking part in a healthier, active lifestyle.
