Judge Judy ❀ Parking Space Thief Vs. Feisty Blonde Vigilante

If you've lived in a large city, you'll understand where this woman is coming from. If you don't, and parking spaces aren't at such a premium where you are, you may not totally comprehend the frustration of navigating through narrow city streets quietly hunting down a parking space while people behind you, in front of you and everywhere else are doing the same thing. You think you find one, but no, it's a driveway. Oh, what about... No, that's a red zone. And there, that's a fire hydrant. And they're filming a movie on that block, which means all the vehicles parked there are competing for a space near your apartment. And that one... No, that's tow-away after 8. And a couple streets down, it's street cleaning. And a couple streets down from there, you find permit parking only, which could mean a very expensive parking ticket.

So when this total you-know-what (probably driving a BMW) steals a space from the defendant, it's not difficult to understand her motivation behind robbing his tires of precious air. I mean, after all, he wanted the space so badly, she's just ensuring he gets his money's worth! Would have been hilarious if it was a tow-away zone and the guy got his car towed, but no such luck. Judge Judy reluctantly does the right thing and awards a nominal judgment and then issues one of the most uninspired warnings to the defendant about being a good citizen and not letting the air out of people's tires, how two wrongs don't make a right, etc. etc. etc. I've got to give JJ props for ruling with her head and not her heart in this case.

I have stolen spots from people before, but upon request, have gladly given them back. Unlike the plaintiff, I know what happens to cars whose drivers aren't nice. It's just a lot easier to keep looking since flat tires are definitely not the worst consequence of poor parking etiquette. I would reveal more, but my lawyer has asked me not to...

@Kenn769 Tha'ts a good point Kenn. I mean, parking spaces are public domain, so if someone parks in a space that in which someone else was intending to park, that person can't just go and release the air from tires every time. It just means that the person needs to be a bit more aggressive in coveting the next parking space. Who knows? Maybe the guy was actually there first and the woman didn't see him.
