linux is for geeks who have plenty of time to play around with their great system(it is indeed great), but hey... you don't expect your grandma to be fooling around with linux... Mac's still better... we can install whichever SO we want with no problems.... so guess who's the winner

Overly simple sry but, well it's Apple's choice, but since they sold out and started using "PC" hardware, they're more open, but nothing like a PC....upgrading/swapping hardware is nice, tell that to Apple.

The ability to run x86 software etc etc is very important and Apple realized that, that wasn't the only reason though, as the P4, and especially the Athlon chips were destroying the G5's. Mac had no choice, and look now, ironic really.

Sry my point is, Open Source is important, SUPPORT IT.

30m is a hell of a lot for all of us who love and support open source. Linux is great, and has come a LONG way, look at the Ubuntu kernel. Linux also doesn't "require" any particular platform, however most Linux users run Windows as well, and run Linux on "PC's", period. I'd say, with all my knowledge and experience 99.99% of Linux box's are pure PC, and there's a "very" good reason for that, which is obvious. PC is, well "OPEN", where Mac is, well, "CLOSED", .....

Mac has "Time Machine" ....
Linux has "Back in Time"...
Mac has Spaces .....
Linux has "compiz fusion" and "FusionCast "
Mac has The Dock
Linux has 100's of Docks...
