In Dreams Blue Velvet

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, about so-called ''American Dream''.

Very poignant scene in this picture. Its well known music/soundscape is vital in any Lynch film, and often a key towards the plot itself.
This scene is no different. Essentially, at the base of this film we are experiencing a 'daydream' by Jeffrey. All these occurances are manifestations of his core thoughts.
'In Dreams' gives us a hint that yes we are in Jeffreys dreams. The look of frustration on Franks face at 1:20 lets us know his power is only real in dreams.

But why the horror of miming? This scene is essentially the same as club silencio in M.Dr. where the importance of the mime, and the absense of autonomy is stressed more.
