I've seen my friend's m20 pix, but he's having a hard time with the software. How exactly do you know which part of an image that's going to be engraved and which is not going to be engraved? He thought, at first, black color won't be engraved at all, but it's not like that apparently. Sometimes black is also engraved, although it'd look different than the white part. He tried using the 'select a zone in photo' but the results were mixed, sometimes it engraves black, other times not.

The M20 Pix is not an Exact science requiring hours of experimentation and practice to get it correct. A lot depends on the materials you are using. There are a Lot of Cheap Chinese polished GI tags which are terrible, the finish is inconsistent and the never engrave the same way twice. Buy American!

I'm curious about the machine:
1. can you adjust the engraving depth?
2. how does the machine know the area to be engraved?
3. is there any advantages of using mechanical engraver compared to laser engraver?

1. Yes you can set the depth of the engraving
2. The size of the item is programmed in the software and then saved for future use.
3. The mechanical Engravers will give you depth where the laser will just engrave the surface. The Mechanical engravers will engrave a bright silver contrast in the metal. The C02 lasers will not engrave Stainless Steel, silver, gold or brass without adding a laser spray.
