Wow, they were really blowing the audience away.
Go Davy & BDS!
-
So good people will be calling him Rory Knowles

Awesome Video Blues71, you have some wonderful footage.

It's always a pleasure when Davy does a Rory Gallagher song. He captures enough of Rory's style to make it a tribute, but he also has a unique style and makes the song his own.

I never got to see Rory - but I got the chance to tell Davy in person that I was transported back 42 years - the last time I got the chills from first hearing someone play and sing was the first notes of "Ball & Chain" - both guitar and voice - at Monterey.
And I agree - he is completely polite, sweet and humble. And very nice to this aging hippie that could be his grandmother!

wow. this is rad. I am VERY excited for his pseudo concert at red rocks tonight

Thanks Frodo, but it's pretty easy to get great footage when you're recording Davy. :) This was a special night with Davy & BDS opening for Buddy Guy at Summerfest in Milwaukee. And I must say, Davy, PK and Steven were really ON their game this particular show. A great time for all! AND one more thing, barring any bad weather, I will be seeing their last show of this year out in Philly on New Years Eve. I think it's going to be another special one. Looking forward to seeing my friend!.......Roy

I've seen Davy four times in the past year and agree that he is a very good guy and of course a great musician. Thanks for recording this concert and the prairie du chein concerts. I was out of town and unable to see those shows, so now I can see what I missed. Did you see BDS in Aurora? I have posted a few songs from that show that I haven't heard elsewhere.

tunesandstuff,
Yes, I did see the guys in Aurora and like you, rocorded video there too. They actually used some of my clips from Aurora and Milwaukee for the song "Tear Down The Walls" which Davy's management released as a professional video. You can find it on Youtube, such search under Davy's name and the title of the song. You'll recognize some of the shots. You can also find my videos under Davy's name and "Blues71".

One thing I should point out about Davy .....I've gotten to know him over the time I've been following his career. We try to chat a little which is getting harder to do as his star grows. I consider him a friend and you could not meet a more polite, sweet and humble young man anywhere on this planet!

I saw Rory Gallagher with his band including Gerry McAvoy twice at a basement club in Milwaukee called "Humpin' Hannahs" in the early '70s. We all sat on the floor; long hair and jeans with Rory standing less than 10 feet in front of us. To say we were blown away just doesn't say it all. I've never since seen anyone who could thrill a crowd like Rory could. That is, until I saw Davy Knowles the first time. I've now seen Davy perform 7 times; he's only 22 and that bodes well for all of us!..Roy
