this is normal for a peanuts comic strip. charlie brown is designed to represent the unsuccessful american. i can relate to him a lot and i'll bet some other people could too because he's always sad and can't do anything. not every single strip has to be funny.
Aren't the strips they've been running since Shutlz's death ones he did himself years ago? If so then all I would say is that they were done in the 60's (give or take) and it was a diffrent world where people weren't so touchy about such things. Today, Charley Brown would be in theoropy or on meds or something but in thoes days it was considered amusing.
Go read Dilbert and cheer up. Peanuts sucks anyway. Ever try to sit through their Christmas special (although, to be fair, ANY Christmas special)?
