Here it goes, tell me what you think!

Chapter 1 "Cole! Are you ready? We don't have all day you know!" I listened for a response but there was none. If I knew my brother he was still asleep.

"I'm leaving!"

"Emma wait for your brother, please." I turned around to face my mother, noticing once again the wrinkles that weren't there just last year.

"Mom, I woke him up ten minutes ago."

"I'll go get him just wait." My mother headed up the stairs to Cole's bedroom. She treated him like such a baby. It was weird how much the last few months had really changed her.

"I'm going out to the car," I yelled. "Not that any of you care." I sighed and then headed out the front door towards the driveway where my truck was parked.

The air was hot but not stifling paired with the light breeze that fluttered through the trees and tangled my hair. But instead of going straight to my car, I decided to head over to the old tire swing that hung from one of the big oak trees, that were off to the side of our old farm house. I slowly got inside the tire and started pushing myself back and forth. I closed my eyes and let the sun bathe my face.

"Emma!" The sound was close and it startled me. I opened my eyes to see Cole standing a few feet away shielding his eyes from the bright sun. "I thought we were going!"

I sighed and pulled my torso through the bottom of the tire and headed over to the driveway with Cole. I waved at my mom who was standing behind the closed screen door and unlocked the drivers' side of my old Ford Pickup. The door was stuck as usual and I had to put my foot on the side and pull with all my might until finally it gave and opened. Once in, I slid over and unlocked the other door so Cole could get in.

"I don't see why we can't just take mom's car," he said after struggling with his door as well.

"And I don't see why you can't go five minutes without complaining."

The rest of the ride was relatively quiet and for that I was thankful, I needed time to think. As soon as we began seeing more cows than people my younger brother put in his iPod and I rolled down my window letting the breeze fill the car. Of course he murmured about the broken air conditioner but I ignored him.

I watched the country go by quickly. It was beautiful, and I knew that if I could I would spend all my time in the open fields that made up most of the small village of Richmond, Ohio. Unlike Cole who still wants to relocate to a city filled with noise and air pollution as soon as he turns eighteen. Which of course made us even more unalike then we already were.

I know sorry it is kind of short. As you can tell it is in story form so will have alot of detail & I hope it makes it more interesting. I will ahve the next part up soon.
