Long time southern California singer/songwriter/musician who has a resume of arresting songs and a habit of abetting almost every other singer or band of country or honky-tonk notoriety that rolls into town. This is a captivating piece of work and fits in nicely with the excellent recordings that he has generated over the years. This video was shot in and around Shelter Valley, Yucca Valley, and the Anza-Borrego desert in extreme southern California. A rugged section of the original Butterfield Overland Mail/ Wells Fargo stagecoach trail runs through this area of remote southeastern San Diego county just north of Tijuana. Beautiful, stark landscapes and vivid light, huge sky. Long stretches of near absolute solitude are possible.

Duuuude! I literally live here! Me and my friend have seen aaaaall of these aces, but that itty bitty trailer got stolen and isn't there anymore :( and that shack that had the poles on it, I know who built that! RIP Robert and Mary sexton.

I love listening to Rick, but the visuals in this video are most wonderfully distracting! Love how they enhance the story of the song. Nice work. Looking forward to hearing him play the whole album tonight at the Barndance.
