Text of poem
The joints on my body look big
The fat on my body is small
I don't have arthritis or even nephritis
I'll be dead if I get more tall
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
The fat on my body is small
The muscles stick out and then shrink
I can't afford falling or getting more talling
I blink and I shrink and I sink
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
My muscles stick out and then shrink
My bruises fuse with more bruises
I outline the pink in black and blue ink
Around my injection bruises
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
My bruises fuse with more bruises
The muscles right beneath the skin
Shrink despite their uses and abuses
If I don't watch out I'll cave in
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
The muscles right beneath the skin
Overshadowed by joints and bones
Look! The amazing shrinking man is in
Smallering like modern cell phones
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
Overshadowing joints and bones
Is my incessant water need
My stomache moans and groans
That's way too much water greed
I'm too skinny for my clothes
Too skinny to donate blood
Too skinny for white blood cells
I'm burning those ketones!
Made a video with my little brother last week.
Went to a dis queer support group- is it me or are there a lot of trans people around?
Great poem! "I'm burning those ketones!"
