This was my first trip documentary that I ever made. It was shot over 3 days at the Baie de la Somme railway gala in 2009. I used my ever faithful Sony VX2000 with a small manfrotto tripod. The video itself was produced for the Mid-Hants Railway Preservation Society (part of the Watercress Line) and they are the group that feature in this film. I hope that you enjoy it!
Very good. Try not to use pans and zooms, unless the subject is in motion. You're trying to tell a story, so keep an eye on continuity. Sound tracks great. I've been doing this for about three years and have learnt a great deal and made a lot of mistakes. Also try and keep the camera level when shooting, if it hasn't got a spirit level on it just fix one on.
Good luck. Geralldus
